MAYFIELD NAMED ABS CANADA REGIONAL SALES MANAGER

DEFOREST, WISCONSIN– September 28, 2009– ABS Canada/St. Jacobs ABC has named Benjamin (BJ) Mayfield the ABS Canada Regional Sales Manager.

“ABS Canada/St. Jacobs ABC is experiencing tremendous success with our current product offering.  Having the number one LPI bull with SHOTTLE, one of the most exciting emerging second crop bulls in BOLTON and a strong line-up of Judge’s Choice™ and Red and White genetics makes it a logical time for BJ to join our team to increase our efforts in Canada,” stated Tim Abbott, General Manager of ABS Canada/St. Jacobs ABC.  “With BJ’s leadership, Canadian producers can expect to see more ABS Representatives at their farms in the future to offer our outstanding products and services.”

Mayfield has previous experience in both the A.I. industry and with ABS. Mayfield spent four years with ABS where he began as an ABS Sales Representative in the Maritimes and eventually became the Area Sales Manager for Ontario.  Most recently, Mayfield worked with Grand Valley Fortifiers as a Dairy Specialist providing herd nutritional, reproductive and management analysis.

Abbott added, “We are thrilled to add BJ to the ABS Canada sales team.  BJ’s experience in the industry at all levels will provide value to our customers.  He understands genetics and is committed to ABS services including both the GMS® (Genetic Management System®) mating program and the RMS® (Reproductive Management System®) reproductive services program.  He has worked in several areas of the country and understands the importance of customer profitability.”

As the ABS Canada/St. Jacobs ABC Regional Sales Manager, Mayfield will manage the sales team for ABS Canada.  He will be managing the sales routes and supporting the ABS sales force. He will be utilizing his excellent sales skills to market ABS dairy products and develop ABS services in the area.

Mayfield and his wife, Erica, will reside in Woodstock, Ontario.
