ST. JACOBS ABC BECOMES A CO-OPERATIVE

The St. Jacobs ABC Board of Directors is pleased to announce that the application for St. Jacobs ABC to become a co-operative within the province of Ontario is now complete. This transition moves St. Jacobs ABC away from the corporation without-share-capital status it has been chartered under since 1995, and moves the company into the co-operative status it has been seeking.

“The move to a co-operative puts St. Jacobs ABC more in line with the business environment the corporation works in while better allowing the organization to fulfill its corporate mandate” states Keith Wideman, president of St. Jacobs ABC. “This change also brings better opportunities for members who want to stay involved in the co-op” Wideman states.

As a result, this change will see St. Jacobs ABC call for an early year end to the 2007 business year which will, once completed, see the company operating as a co-operative beginning July 1, 2007.

The new corporate name for the co-op will be St. Jacobs Artificial Breeding Co-operative Inc.

Headquartered in St. Jacobs, Ontario, St. Jacobs ABC has been in the development of elite dairy cattle genetics since 1958. Governed by its Board of Directors, St. Jacobs ABC is the supplier of some of ABS Global’s most prestigious genetics. St. Jacobs ABC's membership spans across Canada and is a critical component in the proving of young sires for St. Jacobs ABC.
